Human resource management (HRM or HR) is the strategic approach to the effective management of workers in an organization, so that they help the business gain a competitive advantage. Commonly known as the HR department, it is designed to maximize employee performance service of an employer's strategic objectives.

  • Human resources' overall purpose is to ensure that the organization is able to achieve success through people. HR professionals manage the human capital of an organization.
 
  • HR is primarily concerned with the management of people within organizations, focusing on policies and systems. HR departments are responsible for overseeing employee benefits design, employee recruitment, training and development, performance appraisal and rewarding (managing pay and benefit systems). HR also concerns itself with organizational change and industrial relations, that is, the balancing of organizational practices with requirements arising from collective bargaining and from governmental laws.
 
  • HR Management has four basic functions: staffing, training and development, motivation and maintenance.
 
TRAINING
 
Today the highly competitive market, in which business operates, requires a skilful workforce in order to remain a successful player in the competitive game of the industry. One of the main obstacles which occur in the workplace is the lack of training and development. Training is an essential process which should be cautiously designed and implemented within all firms.
 
Training is a part of the human resource development. The role of human resource department is to improve the organization’s effectiveness by providing employees with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will improve their current or future job performance.
